Chaunsa Mango in the UK
Chaunsa is the most widely exported Pakistani mango and the flagship of Punjab. This page is a short reference to the variety and to how a Chaunsa carton reaches you through PakMango.Com.
Why this matters
'Chaunsa' is used loosely by UK sellers. This page describes what Chaunsa actually is so you can judge what you are eating.
Character
Medium-sized fruit, roughly oval with a slight curve, ripening from green to a warm gold. The flesh is deep saffron-orange, low in fibre, and dense. The aroma is heavy honey and blossom when fully ripe.
Season and region
The Chaunsa harvest is centred on the Multan belt of southern Punjab and typically peaks through July, often continuing into early August. There are three related sub-cultivars, an early white-fleshed style, main-season Chaunsa, and a late 'honey' style, and they hand over across the season.
Reserving a Chaunsa carton
Chaunsa cartons open on the shop page as soon as fruit is reaching correct maturity in Pakistan. Fresh Pakistani mango consignments arrive through the season. Most volume goes into our UK wholesale network; direct customer orders are allocated from the freshest available arrival. PakMango dispatches Monday to Thursday across mainland UK, and the carrier's expected delivery follows dispatch. Carrier delays are possible, so delivery dates are estimates, not guarantees.
At home
Chaunsa arrives ready to eat or a day off ripe. Finish at room temperature until the fruit gives gently near the stem and smells strongly through the skin, then refrigerate to slow further softening.
