White Chaunsa (Sufaid Chaunsa) in the UK
White Chaunsa, Sufaid Chaunsa in Pakistan, is the early-season member of the Chaunsa family, lighter in colour and character than the main-season and honey styles.
Why this matters
Because most UK sellers do not distinguish the Chaunsa sub-cultivars, White Chaunsa is often eaten unrecognised as an 'early Chaunsa'. Naming it makes the sequence make sense.
Where it sits in the Chaunsa family
White Chaunsa is the earliest of the three commercial Chaunsa sub-cultivars, followed by main-season Chaunsa and then Honey Chaunsa. It hands the season on to the main-season style in July.
Character
Paler golden skin than main-season Chaunsa and lighter, less dense saffron flesh. The aroma is more floral and less honey-heavy, and the sweetness feels lighter on the tongue.
Season and reservation
White Chaunsa typically arrives in June. Fresh Pakistani mango consignments arrive through the season. Most volume goes into our UK wholesale network; direct customer orders are allocated from the freshest available arrival. PakMango dispatches Monday to Thursday across mainland UK, and the carrier's expected delivery follows dispatch. Carrier delays are possible, so delivery dates are estimates, not guarantees.
At home
Softer than the later Chaunsa styles, so eat within a couple of days of ripening and refrigerate as soon as it is ready.
