Langra Mango in the UK
Langra closes the Pakistani mango season and is often described as the connoisseur's late pick.
Why this matters
Langra keeps a green-tinted skin at full ripeness, which surprises first-time buyers used to using colour as a ripeness cue.
Character
The skin stays green-yellow even at full ripeness. The flesh is golden, low in fibre and denser than Dosehri, with a slightly tart, lemon-edged finish that makes it a refreshing rather than syrupy mango.
Season and region
Langra runs roughly through August and closes the export season. It is grown widely in Punjab, with the Multan and Khanewal areas particularly associated with the cultivar.
Reserving a Langra carton
Langra opens on the shop page as the first mature fruit is confirmed in August. Fresh Pakistani mango consignments arrive through the season. Most volume goes into our UK wholesale network; direct customer orders are allocated from the freshest available arrival. PakMango dispatches Monday to Thursday across mainland UK, and the carrier's expected delivery follows dispatch. Carrier delays are possible, so delivery dates are estimates, not guarantees.
At home
Ignore the green skin as a ripeness cue. Press gently near the stem, if the fruit gives slightly and smells strongly through the skin, it is ripe. Refrigerate once ripe to slow further softening.
