Sindhri Mango in the UK
Sindhri opens the Pakistani mango season each year. This is a short reference to the variety and to how a Sindhri carton reaches the UK.
Why this matters
Sindhri is the first Pakistani variety to appear each summer and is often the first mango a UK household orders that year.
Character
Large fruit with a smooth lemon-yellow skin that deepens as it ripens. The flesh is bright orange-yellow, very low in fibre and juicy, with a slightly citrus-leaning sweetness distinct from the denser honey profile of Chaunsa.
Season and region
Sindhri is the season opener and typically runs from around mid-May through June. It is grown across the Sindh province, with the areas around Mirpur Khas, Tando Allahyar and Hyderabad historically associated with the variety.
Reserving a Sindhri carton
Sindhri opens the shop's reservation calendar each May. Fresh Pakistani mango consignments arrive through the season. Most volume goes into our UK wholesale network; direct customer orders are allocated from the freshest available arrival. PakMango dispatches Monday to Thursday across mainland UK, and the carrier's expected delivery follows dispatch. Carrier delays are possible, so delivery dates are estimates, not guarantees.
At home
Ripen at room temperature for a day or two until the skin deepens to a uniform gold and the fruit gives near the stem. Once ripe, refrigerate to extend by a few days. The low-fibre flesh blends smoothly for lassi.
