Chaunsa, Sindhri, Anwar Ratol, Dosehri, Langra, which to pick.
Which varieties do you ship?
Chaunsa (Multan, the classic honey-sweet king), Sindhri (Mirpur Khas, the bright golden first-of-season), Anwar Ratol (Rahim Yar Khan, small, dense, vanilla-perfumed), Dosehri (Punjab, translucent honey pearl) and Langra (Multan, green-skinned and tropical).
Which is the best Pakistani mango?
Most growers and chefs would name Chaunsa as the finest, it is fibreless, fragrant and extraordinarily sweet. But Anwar Ratol has a cult following for its dense custard texture, and Sindhri is loved as the first mango of summer. Try a mixed carton if you can't decide.
How are Pakistani mangoes different from Indian or Mexican mangoes?
Pakistani varieties are grown in arid, sun-baked conditions and harvested ripe. They are generally smaller, sweeter, less fibrous and more aromatic than Mexican supermarket mangoes, and tend to be richer and more honey-like than Indian Alphonsos.
How many mangoes are in a carton?
A 3kg carton holds roughly 6 to 9 Chaunsa or Sindhri, or 12 to 18 of the smaller Anwar Ratol. Exact count varies by variety and grade, we always pack to weight, not piece count.
