Chaunsa is a Pakistani mango variety from Multan, Punjab, in season June to August. It is known for honey, saffron, apricot flavour notes and a fibreless texture. The king's mango.

Velvet-soft, fibreless, and impossibly sweet. The Chaunsa is the mango that Pakistani diaspora dream of through every English winter. Ripened in the heat of the Pakistani summer and picked before peak, it arrives at your door perfumed and yielding to the slightest press.
PakMango.Com sources Chaunsa from Bagh-e-Anar, run by Malik Sons (4th generation). The orchard sits on alluvial loam over old indus silt at 122m above sea level. Forty hectares of century-old Chaunsa trees outside Multan, irrigated by the Sutlej canal network. Picked at dawn, ripened in straw beds, never gas chambers.
Chaunsa is harvested between Late June and Mid-August, peaking Mid-July. Fresh Pakistani mango consignments arrive in the UK daily during the season, check the expected delivery for your postcode before checkout.
Most cartons arrive at, or close to, eating ripeness. If a mango is still firm, leave it on the counter at room temperature for 24 to 48 hours; it will develop freckles, give slightly to thumb pressure at the stem end and release a strong aroma. Refrigerate only once fully ripe.
